Earlier this week, the Dallas Convention Center was the site of the annual Advertising Specialty Institute show, where 500 suppliers exhibited new lines of promotional products to more than 3,300 distributers.

The $20 billion-a-year industry expects to be at the forefront of economic recovery, the Dallas News reports. Bob Teese, vice president of Hotline Products, a St. Paul, Minn.-based maker of promotional calendars, described attitudes as "upbeat the last couple of months."

According to the Dallas News, recent data from the Advertising Specialty Institute finds that 84 percent of people report remembering the advertiser on promotional products they receive. One in four customers report being consciously more likely to buy that company's products.

Timothy M. Andrews, president of the ASI Show and president and chief executive officer of ASI, told Exhibitor Online that the show yielded "good news," describing the ASI as "focused on growing quality attendance in a productive show environment that helps distributors, suppliers and decorators seize momentum and forge ahead, making 2010 a turning point for the industry."ADNFCR-2478-ID-19598952-ADNFCR
