A high school booster club in North Carolina used promotional products to help raise nearly $3,000 at a recent pancake breakfast.

The Southern Lee Booster Club distributed promotional products before the December fundraiser to help sell tickets. The breakfast was held at the Applebee's restaurant in Sanford, North Carolina. Funds collected by the club will be used to send the Southern Lee high school baseball team to a tournament in Tennessee this spring.

"Volunteers from the Southern Lee Booster Club were outstanding, and we look forward to helping them reach their financial goal and get the team to Tennessee," said Apple Gold Group president and chief executive Michael Olander.

This breakfast was the latest in a series of nonprofit fundraisers hosted by Applebee's. The restaurant chain partners with local nonprofit groups to host fundraiser breakfasts at locations nationwide.

Nonprofit organizations of all types often use engraved pens, custom calendars and other promotional items to raise public awareness and spread the word about upcoming events. The products serve as material reminders of groups and causes, and help establish connections between groups and target audiences.ADNFCR-2478-ID-19541370-ADNFCR
