Bop Design releases web vocabulary tip sheet

Bop Design, a boutique communications firm located in San Diego, California, with offices in New Jersey recently released a web vocabulary tip sheet for small businesses to use to better understand small business marketing terms.

Website design and social media have become more important in businesses with the emergence of sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Some terms often used on websites can be confusing for small business owners, which may make them reluctant to try their hand at the effective marketing approach.

"Small business marketing people can have a difficult time with web terminology so we have identified a few common words or phrases that small businesses may be unfamiliar with or misunderstand," said Jeremy Durant, Bop Design business principal. For some business owners, the terminology may seem like 'common knowledge,' but we felt a need to release a list of the most misunderstood web terms."

Bop Design understands that most business owners can't be experts in every subject of their business, and may be too busy with their everyday operations to keep up with various buzz terms.

"I meet many business owners that want to wear a poker face when asked about web marketing or technology," said Durant."Because they don't want to admit they don't know, they don't learn. We have identified the most commonly misunderstood web marketing terms in the small business community."

Some of the terms on the tip sheet include blog, browser, domain and host.

Bop Design also recently discussed the importance of SEO to small businesses, stressing that search engine optimization has become a critical component in small business plans.
