The California Strawberry Festival announced a contest to determine the design that will appear on posters, custom t-shirts and other promotional products for its 2010 outdoor event.
The winner of the contest will receive $2,000, the Ventura County star reported. The entry deadline will be January 4. The winning design will be used for a range of marketing and advertising purposes, including collectible t-shirts and other promotional products, as well as posters promoting the event.
Judges will choose the entry that best represents the look and spirit of the festival that each year brings thousands of visitors to Oxnard, California for a weekend of food and entertainment to celebrate the $300 million agricultural industry of California's Strawberry Coast, according to the article.
Promotional products have long been a part of outdoor festivals and other large events. Customers tend to appreciate the opportunity to buy festival t-shirts and other promotional products from event holders as souvenirs, while the groups that organize events get the added advertising benefit of having festival-goers wear custom items embroidered with their group or company logos.
