Mobile website converter wins application competition

Weever Apps, a mobile application development company, won a $50,000 prize by winning Lion's Lair for their easy-to-use website to mobile-app converter, The Spec reports.

Small business marketers often have internet websites that promote their company and offer a medium to acquire their services. However, many of these websites aren't mobile ready. According to the International Data Corporation, mobile internet users will surpass wireline users in the United States by 2015. If a company wants to implement an extremely efficient online marketing strategy for the future, they will surely need to engage their market via mobile devices.

Karsten Weide, research vice president of media and entertainment at IDC, stated in her organization's press release that it can no longer be ignored how users are accessing the internet and the huge difference between mobile and PC web surfing.
"Soon, more users will access the Web using mobile devices than using PCs, and it's going to make the Internet a very different place," she said.

With their accolade and winnings, Weever Apps plans to hire programmers, create a recognizable brand name and globalize their efforts, the news source mentioned.
