The Southern Baptist Convention plans to use a range of promotional products to help support its new evangelism initiative, according to an article published Monday.
The program, called God's Plan for Sharing, will be executed through a combination of face-to-face evangelism and distribution of literature and other resources.
"The vision of this initiative is to inspire and encourage Southern Baptists to fulfill the Great Commission in North America by the year 2020," said the Southern Baptist Convention in a statement posted to its website.
In support of the new initiative, the convention's North American Mission Board will offer churches bulletin inserts, stand-up banners, postcard invitations, outdoor banners and other promotional products to help raise visibility among potential converts and encourage participation by members, the Baptist Press reported.
Each year, a number of different religious groups use promotional products to support their evangelism and other efforts, and to encourage participation by parishioners. Promotional products venders offer an array of special religious calendars, planners and other items designed especially for use by religious groups. These products often feature inspirational religious messages and images, and notate religious festivals and days of observance.
