Tips and ideas on business marketing

Small business marketing is not always as easy as it sounds. Many companies are beginning to utilize Facebook, Twitter and other social networking mediums to promote their business, but strategically marketing to get the most of out of a plan can take months, and sometimes years, to perfect.

In order to attract Twitter and Facebook users, companies should make sure their marketing plan caters to diverse audiences. People between the ages of 25 and 40 are usually the consumers who spend the most money, which should make this group the primary target in a marketing plan.

Once a fan base has grown and the business owners have email addresses of potential customers, they should create a newsletter or blog to make sure their customer base expands even more. Even if the business owners don't have a list of customers they can send mass emails to, it's easy to build one. A newsletter or blog should be done at least once a week to keep customers up to date on what's going on with the company and inform them of any other business news that correlates to the entrepreneur's products or services.

All of the content that is sent out in a newsletter or posted on a website could be repurposed and used on Facebook and Twitter. Business owners should make sure that they make the content correct and engaging before they hit the send button, just in case there are any errors that are made in the email.

Business owners should also make sure that they are utilizing the resources that weren't available for marketing 10 years ago. Maximizing the use of Facebook can be a significantly beneficial to a company, which can allow access to more than 800 million active users to the social media website.

Entrepreneurs should make sure they create automated updates across all of their accounts. They should also be sure to connect their newsletter to their Facebook page and website.

Twitter accounts should also be maximized to ensure the site's millions of users are also reached. Building a good relationship through 140 words or less can be simple and fun, allowing business owners to engage with their customers and attract new ones along the way.

According to Vocus, 87 percent of small businesses believe social media has somewhat helped build their organization, which should spur other business owners to also use the outlets.
