January 15, 2014-AMSTERDAM, NY - Amsterdam Printing once again has showed their support with Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties to help local families in need. Amsterdam Printing presented a check in the amount of $5,000.00 to the Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties. The money was raised by Amsterdam Printing employees and will be used to support local families in need and to help purchase food for the local food pantry.
Amsterdam Printing has been working with Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties to help local families in need for the past eight years. Donations include tons of canned food and over $35,500 in monetary donations. All of the donations have greatly helped those in need in our communities.
The Food Pantry serves about 480 people per month. As the need grows, it's important that groups, such as Amsterdam Printing, continue to support the pantry. John Nasso, Agency Executive Director, explains, "The pantry is mainly supported by our community through donations of money and food products. We receive funding from the USDA, however this funding was exhausted early in the year due to the high needs of families in our community. We continue to see a high volume of families requesting assistance due to the difficult economic times."
According to Mike Bucciferro, Facility Manager for Amsterdam Printing, "Amsterdam Printing and its employees look forward to the annual food drive. Our goal is always to help as many people as we can. It is great to know that our monetary donation will allow Catholic Charities to assist needy families in our community."
