Google launches site for small business owners

Entrepreneurs who are always looking for ways to improve their business model now have a resource to make sure they're on track toward success.

Google recently revamped its small business marketing strategy by introducing Google for Entrepreneurs, which is a website that compiles all of its initiatives and services for startups in one place.

The website has three layers, which consist of a page that links entrepreneurs to apps, online ad services and other subscription-based technologies. The second layer features programs that encourage small business owners across the world to link with other businesses, while the third layer provides a detailed list of Google's events for startups.

According to Mary Grove, Google's head of global entrepreneurship, encouraging small business owners worldwide will increase growth and more usage of the internet while more startups will be great for the economy.

Google recently launched the new website with a panel discussion at its office in Washington, in which Grove and Slava Rubin, chief executive of San Francisco based-crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, spoke about how the new technology could assist small business owners with making sure their business is accelerating on all levels.

The new technology will allow entrepreneurs to post business projects on Indiegogo's platform and request donations from those who use their services online at any time, according to Rubin.

Close to 350 entrepreneurs attended the D.C. panel discussion and a few were skeptical as to how the new initiative could help them increase their company's revenue and popularity.

According to the Western Union Small Business Barometer survey, 79 percent of small businesses owners believe their annual revenue will increase in the next 12 months, which might give some business owners hope for future growth.
